Review: Pigalle Spring 2016 Menswear

Photos from style.com

Oh man this collection! Stephane Ashpool did an awesome job producing such an expressive urban collection. The color scheme was amazing as they were well-formed together; these colors should never separate from each other. What I enjoyed seeing was these dark pinks in various tones. When your average person sees these colors they will probably see them as feminine colors but the femininity in this collection is not evident. The lighter colors rebelliously softened the darker colors, but with the layering of cloth and the colors within, there is balance. The collection has lively 80s vibes; silky loud berets, reserved fedoras that adds fun confident ambiance but also helps modernizing the outfit.

Review: Perry Ellis Menswear S/S 2016 New York Collection

Photos from wwd, I do not own these photos

Loved this collection. The only what bothered me just a tad bit was how heavy some pieces looked for Spring/Summer season but nevertheless the color scheme was mouthwatering. When the weather gets warmer doesn't mean the colors have to get brighter. Blues pairing yellows, blood oranges, deep beautiful browns. The color scheme was everything.  Now with sport accessories making fashion statements, running tights paired with silky shorts, is genius. Shorts paired with tights underneath are my weakness. See through sweaters and gold chain quietly noticeable underneath the see through garment, and black midi fingers complimenting the outfits. What also caught my attention was the sandals that barely held the toes together; is very extremely simple and thin but it's a nice softer touch to place on men's toes (doubt the sandals would even last long though). Your typical plaids and stripes walking down the runway but they are somehow placed unique on some of the garments. I also noticed the bomber jacket+shorts combo, gives me some inspo.  Good selection of male models too.

New Discovery and Review: Patrik Ervell, and his Mens 2016 S/S WearCollection New York

As I was looking for new inspirations to write a new blog post, let me tell you- not only I found an inspiration but I also found a new favorite male designer of mine: Patrik Ervell. Looking at his collection gotten me so excited and happy to know the type of aesthetic I've been interested in lately was easily discovered (thank you internet). I quickly went to go on the talented designer's official website while listening to DEEP INSIDE by bbrainz-- I wasn't prepared to learn that the song was matching the vibe of the designer's homepage. With great fairness, I stood there amazed for a couple of seconds, it was tranquility but then I told myself to snap out of it since I didn't even look at the clothing yet. Nevertheless, while thanking the internet of finding him, I realized yes! The internet, technology, computers, futuristic, the cyber world; The mood,  my mind somehow gathered, from his 2016 S/S collection, was like cyber space? Something you would wear in 2040, on casual Fridays at the office (No? Just me? OK).
The color scheme of his well made clothing is a lot of neutral colors: blues, beiges, tans, whites, grays, blacks; colors the average conformed new yorker will call boring and state majority of fashion pieces on runways are ridiculous- However, these colors compliment the styles of his clothing. I can predict many affluent men in their late 20s, early 30s are seen on the streets of Soho wearing his clothing.

His newest collection for Mens Summer/Spring Wear 2016, is a mixture of bombers, elongated tops and jackets, and unforgettable baggy and wide pants. I am wondering to myself how can I get myself a pair of these clothing! (Okay you're right I am a girl but I totally think some of these clothes can be unisex!). That unknown multicolored necklace that somehow matches every outfit did confirm the mood I was perceiving. Don't forget about the shoes, the staple throughout the collection is strapped sandals with some black socks. Watch out Adidas slide ons...you're not only pair of sandals that are liked to paired with some socks but either way, socks with sandals is making a comeback!

Here's a few outfits I absolutely liked.

I do not own these pictures, all rights goes to style.com

Overall, I'm happy to say I definitely have some serious inspo after glaring at these outfits. I'm actually thinking of investing in some nice neutral colored baseball caps too.

Review: Kim Kardashian's Vogue Spain Magazine Spread for August 2015

Kim Kardashian West for Vogue Spain

Photos from Tumblr, I do not own these pictures.

You'd have no idea how long it took me to find these pictures online! I've honestly never really think I would be gathering my thoughts to discuss Kim Kardashian West's August 2015 spread for Vogue Spain. I never really payed attention to her photo shoots but this one....I had to. I'm a sucker for all natural, not try-hard type of shoots. Besides the other photos of her in undies and a Mickey Mouse T-shirt- let's appreciate her oversized matching pajamas easily harmonizing with some running sneakers. Some of the pictures from the shoot gave me vibes from the 1990s. Walking around a hotel in baggy pajamas, grey sneakers with white ankle socks; what a comfortable, inanimate atmosphere I am capturing (pun not intended?). As she casually posing by the curved cream wall, paying the business men no mind (it's a nice backdrop though), her legs are politely slouching- that structures her body into this cool slanted pose as her hands hides in the depths of her pajama's pockets. Honestly, my favorite picture from the entire shoot. Theo Wenner, photographer for the shoot, simply told her to be herself. Who knew she could've done it without any make-up!
